A United Way of the Brazos Valley is proud to support local organizations who serve our community. Organizations are encouraged to apply for funding through the various grant opportunities.
Emergency Food & Shelter Program (EFSP)
United Way of the Brazos Valley is the Local Board Chair for the Emergency Food & Shelter Program (EFSP). The Local Board is charged to distribute funds appropriated by Congress to help expand the capacity of food and shelter programs in high-need areas around the country and to help people with economic emergencies (not disaster-related [i.e., fires of any kind, floods, tornadoes, etc.] emergencies). Therefore, EFSP funds are not to be used to provide economic assistance for circumstances that are the immediate result of a disaster situation. The Local Board will determine how the funds are distributed based on the amounts funded in each county by FEMA.
The Local Board is accepting applications for programs serving Madison County. Applications are due by 5:00 pm on Friday, June 23, 2023.
Community Builder Grants – Up to $1,000
The Youth Leadership Cabinet extends a grant application every year. Grant are awarded up to $1,000 and must benefit the Brazos Valley in the areas of health, education and/or financial stability. The application becomes available via the United Way of the Brazos Valley website in the first quarter of every year. Agencies selected for funding are announced in early May.
