BRAZOS VALLEY COVID-19 COMMUNITY RELIEF FUND

During times of uncertainty, the Brazos Valley came together to support each other. COVID-19 was a new test of our collective strength. As social distancing and self-quarantining became part of everyday life, we faced new economic challenges. To support the escalating need, community nonprofits partnered with local governments and businesses to launch a relief fund for Brazos Valley residents and businesses that faced economic uncertainty as the region continued to follow CDC, state and city guidelines designed to contain the spread of COVID-19.

The Brazos Valley COVID-19 Community Relief Fund was managed by United Way of the Brazos Valley, the Community Foundation of the Brazos Valley, the Bryan/College Station Chamber of Commerce, the City of Bryan and the City of College Station.

Funds were distributed throughout the Brazos Valley for:

  • Nonprofit Organization Support – offering grants for programs supporting food, rent and utility assistance for those impacted by COVID-19 response
  • Small Business Relief – offering small business payroll and rent grants for those whose business has experienced severe interruption due to COVD-19 response

As of June 1, 2020, the Brazos Valley COVID-19 Community Relief fund granted a total of $1,181,228 to 12 nonprofits and 114 Small businesses impacted by COVID-19 response containment efforts. Click here to see a full list of Brazos Valley recipients.
